Use this interactive demo to learn how to simultaneously broadcast live on Twitch and YouTube using OBS.

Quick summary

This tutorial shows how to dual stream to Twitch and YouTube simultaneously using OBS and the Multiple RTMP plugin. By installing the plugin and configuring separate stream keys for each platform, you can broadcast one live session to both audiences at the same time.

Steps

  1. Open a web browser, search for the Multiple RTMP OBS plugin, then download and install the plugin for your operating system. Close OBS during installation if prompted.
  2. Reopen OBS, click Docks in the top menu, then select Multiple Output to open the multistream panel.
  3. Click Add new target in the Multiple Output window.
  4. Go to YouTube, click Create > Go Live, then copy your Stream URL and Stream Key from the stream settings page.
  5. Go back to Streaming Settings > YouTube, paste the Stream URL and Stream Key in their respective fields.
  6. In Twitch, go to Settings > Stream, then copy your Twitch Primary Stream Key from the Twitch Creator Dashboard and set the service to Twitch.
  7. Paste the Stream Key in OBS > Settings > Stream, then click Apply to confirm.
  8. Click Start Streaming in OBS, then click Start All in the Multiple Output panel to begin streaming to YouTube and Twitch simultaneously.
  9. Verify your Twitch stream appears live in the Twitch dashboard.
  10. Verify your YouTube stream appears live in the YouTube dashboard.

📌 Why this matters

Dual streaming to Twitch and YouTube at the same time lets content creators reach two of the largest live-streaming audiences without running separate broadcast sessions. Using OBS with the Multiple RTMP plugin is a free, reliable method that requires no third-party restreaming service or paid subscription. This approach maximizes viewer reach, accelerates channel growth on both platforms, and keeps production costs at zero. For any streamer looking to grow their audience and diversify platform presence, mastering dual streaming in OBS is an essential skill.
