Use this interactive demo to learn how to set up a Quick Action in Salesforce CRM.

Quick summary

A Salesforce Quick Action lets users perform common tasks directly from a record without navigating away, boosting CRM productivity. This guide shows how to create a Quick Action via Advanced Setup by selecting an object, defining the action type, and saving it.

Steps

  1. Click the gear icon at the top right of the dashboard to open settings.
  2. Select Open Advanced Setup from the dropdown menu.
  3. Click Open Manager at the top of the Setup page.
  4. Select the object where you want the Quick Action to appear.
  5. Choose Buttons, Links and Actions from the object settings menu.
  6. Click New Action at the top right of the page.
  7. Choose your Action Type from the available options.
  8. Fill in the other required details for the action.
  9. Once done, click Save to create the Quick Action.

📌 Why this matters

Salesforce Quick Actions reduce the number of clicks reps need to log calls, create records, or send emails directly from any object page. By surfacing the most common tasks in a single button, Quick Actions accelerate data entry and help sales teams stay focused inside the CRM. Admins can tailor Quick Actions to specific objects and workflows, making Salesforce more intuitive and aligned with how each team operates. This feature is essential for any organization looking to improve CRM adoption and reduce time spent on repetitive administrative tasks.
