Use this interactive demo to learn how to set up a parent campaign hierarchy in Salesforce.

Quick summary

This demo shows how to create a Parent Campaign in Salesforce by navigating to the Campaigns module and linking a child campaign using the Parent Campaign field. It covers the full process from opening the App Launcher to saving both the parent and child campaign records.

Steps

  1. Click the App Launcher at the top of the dashboard.
  2. Scroll down and click Campaigns.
  3. Select New at the top right of the page.
  4. Fill in the details for the new campaign.
  5. Click Save — the campaign is now set as the Parent Campaign.
  6. Select New again to create another campaign.
  7. In the dialog box, locate the Parent Campaign field.
  8. Choose your previously created campaign as the parent.
  9. Enter the remaining required details, then click Save to create the child campaign.

📌 Why this matters

Salesforce Campaign Hierarchy lets marketing teams group related campaigns under a single Parent Campaign, enabling consolidated reporting on ROI, responses, and pipeline influence. Without a properly configured parent-child campaign structure, teams lose visibility into how individual campaigns contribute to overarching marketing programs. Setting up a Parent Campaign in Salesforce ensures accurate multi-touch attribution and cleaner performance dashboards. This feature is essential for any team running coordinated, multi-channel marketing initiatives inside Salesforce.
