Quick summary
Salesforce record types let admins control which picklist values and page layouts different users see on an object. This demo walks through every step to create a new record type in Salesforce using the Setup menu and Object Manager.
Steps
- Click the gear icon at the top left of the dashboard to open the Setup menu.
- Select Open Advanced Setup from the dropdown.
- Open Object Manager and select an object to configure.
- Choose Record Types from the object's detail menu.
- Click New to start creating a new record type.
- Enter the record type details such as name and description.
- Click Next to proceed to the next configuration step.
- Assign a Page Layout to the new record type for each profile.
- Click Save to finalize and create the new record type.
