Use this interactive demo to learn how to build a custom calendar inside Salesforce in minutes.

Quick summary

Salesforce lets you create custom calendars linked to any custom object, giving teams a visual way to track dates and deadlines directly inside the platform. This step-by-step walkthrough shows exactly how to configure and save a new calendar from the App Launcher in just a few clicks.

Steps

  1. Click the App Launcher at the top menu of your Salesforce dashboard.
  2. Scroll down and select Calendar from the app list.
  3. In the right panel below the calendar, click the gear icon to open calendar settings.
  4. Click New Calendar to begin creating a custom calendar.
  5. Choose a custom object from the dropdown menu, then click Next.
  6. Fill in the remaining required calendar details, then click Save.
  7. Your custom calendar has been successfully created and is ready to use.

📌 Why this matters

Creating a custom calendar in Salesforce allows teams to visualize key dates from any custom object — such as project deadlines, renewal dates, or follow-up schedules — directly within their CRM. This eliminates the need to switch between external calendar tools and Salesforce, keeping all scheduling context in one place. For sales and operations teams, this feature improves time management, reduces missed deadlines, and makes date-driven records instantly actionable. It is a practical no-code configuration that any Salesforce admin can complete in minutes.
