Use this interactive demo to learn how to duplicate and save a report in Salesforce.

Quick summary

Copying a Salesforce report lets you create a new version of an existing report without rebuilding it from scratch. Use the Save As option from the report's dropdown menu to instantly duplicate any report with a new name and settings.

Steps

  1. Click the App Launcher at the top of your Salesforce dashboard.
  2. Scroll down and select Reports from the app list.
  3. Choose a report to open from the reports list.
  4. Hover over the dropdown button beside the Edit button at the top-right of the report page.
  5. Select Save As from the dropdown menu.
  6. Fill in the required new details and click Save to confirm the copy.
  7. Your copied report has been successfully created and is ready to use.

📌 Why this matters

Knowing how to copy a Salesforce report saves time by letting users duplicate existing reports instead of rebuilding complex configurations from scratch. The Save As feature in Salesforce Reports enables teams to quickly create report variations for different audiences, time periods, or filters. This is especially valuable for sales and operations teams who need consistent reporting structures across multiple use cases. Mastering this workflow helps Salesforce users work more efficiently and maintain reporting consistency across their organization.
