Quick summary
The QGIS Clip tool lets you trim a vector layer to the boundary of another layer using the Geoprocessing Tools menu. In just four steps, you can select an input layer, apply an overlay layer, and generate a clean clipped output directly in your layers panel.
Steps
- Go to the top menu, click Vector, select Geoprocessing Tools, then choose Clip.
- Select your Input layer, which is the layer you want to clip.
- Choose your Overlay layer, which is the layer used to clip the input layer.
- Click Run — a new clipped layer will be added to the layers panel once the process is complete.
