Changing the gallery cover in Notion lets you display a custom image on each database card for a more visual, organized workspace. You can upload an image, paste a link, or choose a stock photo from Unsplash directly inside any Notion gallery view.
Steps
- On your Notion database, click the View settings icon near the top-right of the database.
- In the right panel, click Layout.
- Change the layout to Gallery.
- Open the gallery card you want to update.
- Click Add cover at the top of the page.
- Click Change cover and select Upload, Link, or Unsplash.
- For this demo, use the Gallery tab to pick a stock image as the cover.
- Once the cover is set, go back to Gallery view.
- In View settings, open Layout again and under Card Preview, set it to Page cover so the cover image appears on each gallery card.
