This demo shows how to convert a subtask to a story in Jira using the Move action and Work Type selector. Reassigning issue types in Jira helps teams maintain accurate sprint backlogs and proper issue hierarchy without recreating tickets.
Steps
- In your Jira project, find and select the subtask you want to convert.
- Tap the Actions button in the top-right corner of the issue.
- Choose Move from the list of available options.
- Click the Work Type menu to open the issue type selector.
- Select Story from the list of issue type options.
- Click Next to proceed to the next step of the move wizard.
- Fill out the required fields with the corresponding details, then click Next.
- Tap Confirm to agree to the terms and complete the conversion request.
- The selected subtask in your Jira space is now successfully changed to a Story.
