Quick summary
Adding a Google Maps layer to QGIS lets you use satellite and road map imagery as a basemap directly inside your GIS project. The HCMGIS plugin makes this a two-click process — no API key or manual tile URL required.
Steps
- Click HCMGIS in the top menu bar, then hover over Basemaps to expand the submenu and select Google Maps.
- Once selected, the Google Maps layer will automatically appear on the map canvas and be added to the Layers Panel.
