How to Add Google Maps in QGIS

This demo shows how to add Google Maps to QGIS as a basemap by installing the free HCMGIS plugin. Once installed, the plugin adds a Basemaps menu that gives you instant access to Google Maps and other tile layers directly inside your QGIS project.

Steps

1. Open the Plugins menu in QGIS and select Manage and Install Plugins.
2. In the Plugins search bar, search for and select HCMGIS.
3. Click Install Plugin if it is your first time, or click Reinstall Plugin if you have installed it before.
4. Click the newly installed HCMGIS menu in the top menu bar, then navigate to Basemaps and select Google Maps to add it to your project.
