The Notion Table of Contents block lets you automatically generate page navigation from your existing headings, making long pages easier to browse. Once inserted, the table of contents updates dynamically whenever you add or edit heading blocks on the page.
Steps
- Open the Notion page where you want to add a table of contents.
- Make sure your page has headings such as Heading 1, Heading 2, or Heading 3.
- Click the area where you want the table of contents to appear, type /table of contents to open the block menu, then select Table of contents from the list.
- Notion will automatically create a table of contents using the headings on your page.
- Your table of contents is now added and will update as you add or edit headings on the page.
