Use this interactive demo to learn how to build a class schedule database in Notion.

Quick summary

This demo shows how to create a class schedule in Notion using a structured table database with custom properties for class name, day, time, and room. In just a few steps, students can build a fully organized, filterable schedule directly inside their Notion workspace.

Steps

  1. On your Notion page, type /table view and select Table view.
  2. Select New database and name it Class Schedule.
  3. Rename the Name column to Class.
  4. Add your class names under the Class column.
  5. Click the + icon on the right side of the table to add a new property, then click Select.
  6. Rename the new property to Day.
  7. Add day options like Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.
  8. Add a Text property and rename it Time.
  9. Add another Text property and rename it Room.
  10. Fill in each row with the class day, time, and location.

📌 Why this matters

A class schedule database in Notion gives students a single, centralized workspace to track every course, meeting time, and classroom location. Unlike paper planners or spreadsheets, a Notion table database is fully searchable, filterable, and accessible across all devices. This matters because staying organized with course information directly impacts academic performance and time management. Building this schedule in Notion also lets students expand it later with grades, assignment due dates, and professor contact details.
